ECHO for Extra Choices in Herefordshire Limited, your local disability charity has taken a bold step in developing our services by buying our first ever building. The purchase was funded through a kind legacy from supporter Janet Smart and a significant grant from The Eveson Trust.

We will be undertaking renovation works on the former Halifax Bank building in West Street, Leominster to create a vibrant and accessible place for people with learning and other disabilities. It will provide a base for a new media and design project, radio broadcasting, arts and crafts as well as a retail area where community members can pop in to buy a range of gifts and creations. The building will also offer meeting rooms for other organisations to use.

This development will enable us to save on rent, create a purpose designed building and bring in new funding. It will also bring a currently empty property into use and add to the community resources in the heart of Leominster. We welcome the support of anyone who could help us to complete our renovations.

ECHO is an independent,  Herefordshire-based charity with 230 members and over 150 volunteers. Our main office is in Leominster but our projects run in many different community based venues.

In 2020 we proudly celebrated 30 years of making a difference to the lives of disabled people in the county.

Most of our activities are suitable for people with moderate or severe learning difficulties, but we will try to support anyone who wishes to take part in our activities, including those with mental health difficulties and physical or sensory impairments.
