Jump to it! Sky Dive for ECHO

As Chief Officer of an organisation sometimes you have to walk the walk as well as talk the talk. ECHO is asking brave souls to raise money by jumping out of a plane and so I wanted to show willing and raise some funds for our fabulous charity.

I'd be really be grateful for any gift you give to support our participants, whether these are given to encourage me or to ensure that I can't back out!

Once again a big thank you to everyone who has supported me- I couldn't have done it without you. Remember all of the money raised goes to support our participants and work.

So it really happened! It was a great day for it - Blue skies and fantastic visibility. I wasn't sure what to expect, but with the moral support of my family, trustees and staff I was OK on the day nerves wise. 

The freefall was really noisy but an experience like nothing I've done before- I really enjoyed it but tried not to think that we left the plane at 10,000ft and might reach 125mph! After what seemed like short time- the parachute was pulled, we were yanked up in the air and then floating down in relative peace and quiet. I even got to control the parachute for a little bit, making turns as we went down. A bump on the bottom and we were landed!

A great experience- I'd recommend it! 
 

So, still waiting for the final OK, but all is looking good for tomorrow. Fingers Crossed!  

Rain stops play

Well after a few days of heatwave and blue skies the jump day turns out to be wet and miserable and so the skydiving has been cancelled. 

Frustrating though this is it can't be helped. Good news I have rescheduled it for the 9th July, so hopefully not long to wait.

If any of you know a good sun dance save it for then!

8 days to go now....

Thank you everyone for your amazing generosity! So much so I've decided to up my total to see how close I can get to £900! It is only 11 days until the planned jump- so this is an ambitious total, but ECHO is an ambitious organisation so lets try to match that.

It is getting very real now- exciting and scary in equal measure
